Hi Andi, thanks for the question. It is both really. It is used to ally oils and then more as a gentle stroke to warm up tissues before any medium or deeper pressures are used. It is also the initial physical contact with the client so should always be gentle. Slow and gentle to start, deeper and maybe faster comes later. All the best, Kevin]]></description>
